I’m not a big fan of “where do you see yourself in x years?” type of questions, but for some reason, I decided to write this list of 10 things I want to do before I turn 35.
Another thing I resent is an article with a list of “things you should do before you turn this many years”. We all grow and improve in different paces. We all want different things in life. Don’t get discouraged reading those types of articles, instead, look at yourself and make your own lists. Just for fun or to set a goal.
Why am I writing the list of 10 things I want to do before I turn 35?
I love making lists, I could do that all day every day. Other than that, I’m turning 32 this year and I think that it would be great if I manage to do at least half of this stuff from the list. If I’m lucky, I’ll do all 10.
Some of the things on the list are something that I’ve started but never went through till the end or some places I want to go back to. Nevertheless, those are the things I want to do in the nearest future.

1. Barcelona, Spain
Visiting Barcelona was my dream ever since I was 18. I wrote a paper about Gaudi in my art class and fell in love with the city. I was planning to visit it now in May 2020 but worldwide lockdown happened due to COVID 19 and couldn’t. Another possible date was the middle of October for my birthday this year, but I’m not sure it will be possible.
Hopefully, 2021 will be better than this one and I’ll go to Barcelona for my 33 birthday.

2. Tuscany, Italy
The dreamiest place on Earth I’ve been so far. I want to go back not only because it is so beautiful, but because I didn’t see everything it has to offer. I’ve spent three days in a beautiful spa town called Montecatini and from there I went to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Bologna, and Pisa. San Gimignano left the biggest impression on me, it is a small walled medieval hill town surrounded by vineyards. And, it’s known by the best ice cream in the world in Gelateria Dondoli.

3. Strasbourg, France
I’ve lived in Strasbourg for 5 months and went there several times before that. Every time for a month. I’m in love with the city. Geographically it has a perfect position, it is on the border with Germany, Paris in 2 hours by train, you can jump to Brussels to get some chocolate in three hours or go to Baden Baden on some spa escape. It is known for its Christmas market and they call it “Capital de Noel” or capital of Christmas.
What I loved the most is architecture, I could wander the streets for hours and look at all the beautiful buildings. I’m drawn to it, I want to go back to visit or maybe even to live there.

4. Edinburgh, United Kingdom
Another place I want to go back to is Edinburgh, Scotland. I’ve been there in November 2019 for two days total of which I had meetings for a day and a half. I want to visit all, the castle, the royal residence, highlands, everything. Unfortunately, I don’t have many photos for this trip, but I will make it up next time.

5. Highclere castle, United Kingdom
If this name doesn’t ring the bell, maybe Downton Abbey will. Yes, it is a place where the famous TV show was shot. It is so magical, I fell in love with it in the first episode. I would love to go there and spend as much time as I can.

6. Learn French – again
Before my adventure called living in Strasbourg begun, I started learning French. I wanted to at least some of it so I can communicate somehow. French are known for not knowing English, or at least most of them. I only finished the basic course and of course, it wasn’t enough for bare communication. I gave up and now I regret it. I want to get serious about it and learn it so I can go back and live there again.

7. Photography
Another thing I want to do before I turn 35 is getting better in photography, maybe even turn professional. I love photography very much and I try to improve my skill every day as much as I can. Step by step before I become very good at it.

8. Books
I’ve never been a big book worm, I could even say I don’t really like reading. This is something I’ve been working on recently, trying to read at least one book a month. Unfortunately, it’s more than one book in two months. This and learning French turned out to be the most difficult things I want to do for some reason.
So, hopefully, by the time I turn 35, my reading habits will change for the better. By the time I’m 40, I would like to be able to finish one of those reading challenges, 52 books in 52 weeks.

9. Self-care
Maybe I was mistaken, this is the most difficult of the 10 things I want to do. I was never able to put my need first and to take care of myself. I’m putting this off not wanting to deal with it, but I will have to if I want a healthy relationship with myself.

10. Write
One of the things I love to do, but rarely do (if we don’t count this blog) is writing. I love writing short stories but haven’t written any in years and I feel so bad because of it. Every time I sit intending to write I can’t think of anything, but when I’m not in the position to do it (like in a meeting) there comes the inspiration.
I gave my self a task with one of those writing prompts list and I would like to write something, at least 10 stories using those prompts.
I hope that this list of things I want to do made you write your own.
